What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories. ~ George Elliot
Of course I intend to put the material on here in some kind of order, but for now lets start with the pictures you really want to see. Following are some photo galleries of our newest addition, Ezequiel Joseph Rost.
| Here are the pictures from the hospital. Zeke (EJ) was born on 3/11/2010 by C-Section and was immediately taken to the NICU. He was 19 and 1/2 inches long and weighed 6lbs 5oz. He spent 4 days in the NICU for fluid in his lungs. As you may see from the pictures, Zeke was extremely upset that we took him out early. When asked about the upset at a later time he said "waaaa."

These are the last pictures from the hospital, once Zeke had joined us in the room already, and then some pictures from his first week home. Zeke has been gaining weight and doing great since he came home with us. (Aside from not sleeping more than 3 or 4 hours at a time, which apparently doesn't bother him at all)

We both had been wanting to take pregnancy pictures for a while, and we were getting close to the end. Two days before the doctor told us to go in to the hospital we decided to take some. I used one of our bed sheets and three stand up lights and went to town. It was challenging, but over a hundred pictures later we ended up with these four. Sorry, no link for this one. Just the pictures you see. Isn't she beautiful?

Here are the latest pictures. Zeke had a doctor's appointment at two and a half weeks old that went great. he weighed in at 7lbs 8oz and was 20 and 1/2 inches long. That means he grew a half of an inch from last week and gained almost a pound (in one week). Doing awesome. If you liked the last slideshow, you're going to love this one. It's amazing how his personality is coming out already. |

| And so another week goes by, and it seems like he was born yesterday. Zeke had another doctor's appointment this week (only because the doctor messed up his blood work) and he is now 21 inches long and weighs 8lbs 5oz. It's amazing to see the changes in his behavior, and his appearance. This slideshow has some pictures where we are working on a smile. I wake up exited every day to see my little E.J. | ![]() |
It hasn't been a week yet but I can't stop taking pictures. I'm pretty sure someone might have a problem with some of these pictures in 15 or 16 years but I'm not too worried about it now. Bath time is getting better, or I guess I should say we are tolerating it better. Sometimes we cry but for the most part we are okay. Tomorrow we have our appointment with the surgeon to look at Zeke's ventral hernia. I think it's looking much better. Hopefully we can just wait it out. I can't wait to be done with all of the doctor's appointments. |

| Well we've been in the hospital, out of the hospital, in 2 different ambulances, and we're still flying high. Look at how cute my little trooper has come out of all this mess. | ![]() |
| Well here is the newest gallery (Uploaded 7/18). Zeke has 2 teeth coming in and has a couple new toys. Have a look at this super happy little boy. | ![]() |
So we haven't been posting very regularly because we are very busy with school and work and taking care of Zeke. He has 4 teeth now (2 on top and 2 on bottom) and his favorite activities include trying to bite through daddy's finger. (He hasn't succeeded yet because daddy is a wuss and won't let him finish. Had the pictures in this gallery taken at Portrait Innovations. Gallery Uploaded 10/02/2010

| Well of course I had the camera aimed at Zeke the whole time, but I got a few pictures of other people (Zeke is still in the picture of course). My little man is growing up so fast. | ![]() |
The next section will include random pictures and galleries:
Just one picture here, no gallery. I entered this picture into a photography contest at work. The challenge was to take a picture of Bluebonnets, the state flower of Texas. I had originally picked a picture to submit and one of my co-workers took a picture with a bumble bee next to a bluebonnet. How was I supposed to beat that? . . . With a butterfly!
